TRULY UNIQUE CHAPEL EXTENSION AND CONVERSION, WE PROMISE YOU ITS NOT A RENDER

Residential Refurbishment and Extension - Project and Build Cost £220k

These images may look like renders, but we promise you this building is real. A unique project that we are privileged to have been on the design team for, Form GB were responsible for the design co-ordination and technical detailing of this project which is essentially a new house added to the gable end of a stone chapel. The new building is entirely clad in black powder coated corrugated sheet metal which acts as a rainscreen cladding to an otherwise timber structure. It took some time in planning but was eventually passed as it followed the existing line of the chapel and also the local parish council agreed that the corrugated metal was quite suitable in a rural location as it matched the look and feel of many agricultural buildings. We can’t take responsibility for this one as it was the hard work of Jonathan Tuckey Design that brought this one to fruition. We did play a key role on the design team and it’s one of our very favourite low-tech pieces of architecture. A stunning and unique home which is as functional as it is beautiful, perhaps the next off grid Eco home.
